AmoraReads Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 7th, 2026
- Overview and Scope
- This Privacy Policy describes how AmoraReads ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and
safeguards your personal information when you access or use our services — including our
website, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and all related features (collectively, the "Service").
- By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the practices set out in this
policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our Service.
- This policy applies to all information gathered via AmoraReads’ mobile applications, website, and
any other platforms that link to this policy.
- Terms defined in our Terms of Service but not defined here carry the same meaning. In the event of
any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service, this policy will take
precedence regarding personal data.
- Information We Collect
- We obtain information in two ways: (i) information you actively give us, and (ii) information we
automatically collect as you use the Service.
2.1 Information You Actively Provide
A. Account and Profile Information
- Required for account creation: valid email address.
- Important note: Your public profile should avoid disclosing sensitive
personal data (such as religious beliefs, health records, and government-issued identification
documents), unless you explicitly intend to publicly share such information.
- B. Communication Data
- Any information you send us through customer support inquiries, feedback
forms, surveys, or contest submissions.
- C. Payment-Related Information
- When you purchase subscriptions or in-app items, payment processing is
handled by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We do not store full
payment credentials — we only receive limited, non-sensitive transaction details (e.g.,
transaction date, amount, type of payment method).
2.2 Information Automatically Collected
A. Usage and Browsing Data
- The content you view, stories you save or bookmark, reading duration, how
often you log in, and which features you use (e.g., comments, offline downloads).
- Referral source (e.g., which website or link directed you to us).
- B. Device and Technical Data
- Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as
GAID for Android or IDFA for iOS).
- IP address, internet service provider, language preference, time zone, and
— if you grant location permissions — approximate geolocation data.
- C. Advertising Data
- Information about ads you see or interact with, including clicks and how
long you view an ad, used to measure advertising effectiveness.
2.3 Data About Minors
We comply with applicable children’s privacy laws worldwide (including COPPA and GDPR). We do not knowingly
collect information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your
jurisdiction, such as 16 in the EEA).
If you are below that minimum age, please do not register an account.
- How We Use Your Information
- We use your information only for legitimate purposes, including:
- Providing and maintaining the Service: Account authentication, processing
payments, and delivering core features (e.g., saving your reading progress).
- Personalization: Recommending stories based on your reading history and
preferences.
- Improvement and development: Analyzing usage patterns to improve
performance and test new features.
- Security and fraud prevention: Detecting unauthorized access and
protecting against cyber threats.
- Communications:Service-related messages: Mandatory notices (e.g., password
reset instructions). You cannot opt out of these.Marketing messages: Promotions, newsletters,
and special offers. You may opt out at any time.
- Advertising: Showing and measuring the performance of personalized or
non-personalized ads.
- Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Users Only)
- If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following GDPR legal bases:
- Your consent: When you give explicit permission (e.g., for personalized
advertising).
- Contract performance: To fulfill our obligations under the Terms of
Service (e.g., processing payments).
- Legitimate interests: Where our interests (such as improving the Service
or preventing fraud) do not override your privacy rights.
- Legal obligation: When we are required to process data by law.
- Advertising Practices
- The free version of the Service (or certain incentive-based features) may include advertisements.
5.1 Ad Types
- Personalized ads: Tailored to your likely interests based on usage data
and device identifiers.
- Non-personalized ads: Generic ads that do not rely on your personal data.
5.2 Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, device identifiers (GAID/IDFA), and pixel tags to measure ad performance and avoid showing
you the same ad repeatedly. Our advertising partners may also use similar technologies, subject to their
own privacy policies.
5.3 Opt-Out Options for Personalized Ads
You can opt out of personalized ads through industry tools.
Opting out will not eliminate ads entirely — you will continue to see non-personalized ads.
- Your Control Over Advertising
- You have several ways to manage ads and data usage:
- In-app settings: Navigate to Account Settings > "Privacy" > "Ad
Preferences" and disable personalized ads.
- Marketing emails: Click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any
marketing email.
- Device settings: On iOS, reset your IDFA via Settings > Privacy &
Security > Tracking. You may also use other industry opt-out tools.
- How Long We Keep Your Data
- We retain your information only as long as necessary:
- Account data: Deleted within 30 days after you delete your account, except
for limited information we must keep for legal reasons (e.g., tax records may be retained for up
to 7 years).
- Automatically collected data: Typically retained for 12 months after your
last activity, unless required for security purposes.
- Minors’ data: Deleted immediately if we discover it was collected without
proper authorization.

that of our users.
8.4 Corporate Transactions
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new
owner, provided that owner agrees to honor this Privacy Policy.
- International Data Transfers
- Your data may be transferred to and stored in countries other than your own (for example, the United
States). For EEA users, we ensure appropriate safeguards via EU Standard Contractual Clauses
(SCCs). All data transfers are encrypted using SSL/TLS.
- Links to Third-Party Sites
- The Service may contain links to external websites (e.g., author blogs, book retailers). This
Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies
before providing any personal information.

- Encryption during transmission (SSL/TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) available for accounts.
- Regular security audits and reviews.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You can help by using
a strong, unique password, enabling MFA, and reporting any suspicious activity to us.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may revise this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through
an in-app alert, an email, or a prominent notice on the Service. Changes take effect after the
notice is provided. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept
the updated policy. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.
